School

The school will engage the community with educational opportunity through artists lecture series, photojournalism classes, analog camera workshops and a small local print shop. The school’s intent is to collaborate with Chicago Uptown’s Harry S. Truman College students and local elementary and high school students.

Photojournalism– A class on visual storytelling. You will be encouraged to make picture stories with social relevance that may change attitudes or affect society in some way. Most importantly, you will learn how to see, how to tell a story, and how to use the transforming power of photography to communicate in visual journalistic terms.

Monday - 7pm- 9pm for 7 weeks

Tuesday 10am – 12pm for 7 weeks

Wednesday - 7pm- 9pm for 7 weeks

$425 per person (capacity at 12 students per class)

Analog Photo Workshop –Film is back!

How to use a film camera, develop film and make a print. 

Saturdays 10am – 2pm 

$200 per person (8 student’s max)

Local high school student photojournalism classes* 

We are all photographers today with a powerful tool in our pockets, it is essential to engage the youth with the code of ethics - non biased, fact based, respectful, and comprehensive visual storytelling.
 (17 students a class offered in spring and fall semesters) 

8 to12-week class 2x a week for 1.5 hours
